A Pak-China luxury bus service has boarded on its initial journey from Lahore to the city of Kashgar in China’s Xinjiang province, reported by Radio Pakistan on Monday.
The bus service launched by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Shuja Express together between Pakistan and China to ease tourists as part of an inventiveness to connect both countries by road under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The bus of Lahore-Kashgar will run four days a week, on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, while the Kashgar-Lahore bus will be running on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The journey will be of total of 36 hours, and the bus will make five stops along the way before it crosses into China at the Khunjerab bypass.

The first bus was to depart from Lahore on November 3rd 2018 at 12:00am. While making stop-offs at Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Mansehra, Besham, Ghelas, Gilgit, Sost, Khunjerab bypass, the bus was to reach Tashkurgan Country the next day at 3:00pm. All these places where the bus was to stay have great importance for regular tourists because these places have very different climates and sights form all over the Pakistan. That travelling to Chine would be most exiting for all visitors of Pakistan; already thousand of people travels to China border even knowing already that area’s very low temperature.
A valid visa and ID card will be required by travelers to make the journey.
The one way fare would be Rs.13,000; while a round trip would cost Rs. 23,000, according to Radio Pakistan reporting.
PTDC official Mukhtar Ali told APP on Monday that the bus service would allow visitors, particularly monks to visit blessed Buddhist sites dating back to the Gandhara age.
